  7. The corneal shape of patients 
  8. following radial keratotomy (RK) 
  9. can be visualized and any changes 
  10. in shape with time following the 
  11. surgery can be quantified.  These 
  12. corneas are flatter in the center 
  13. and steeper in the periphery-the 
  14. opposite of the cornea prior to 
  15. the procedure.  The maps help if 
  16. additional refractive procedures 
  17. are required.
